I’d been having sports massages for a few years for my shoulder, which would become achy and painful every few months. It got to the stage that without a regular massage to relieve the tension that had built up, my whole shoulder would became unbearably painful and I was unable to get it into any comfortable position. The pain would travel down my arm to affect my elbow and forearm, and up into my neck causing headaches. I took up pilates which helped enormously and eventually had a Sports and Remedial Massage and I became fascinated with how the body works – and how I could avoid any further pain!
This led to me to studying for my diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage at the Oxford School of Sports Massage (OSSM), which is accredited by the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage (ISRM), qualifying in July 2012. In 2016 I became qualified in Medical Acupuncture (also known as ‘Dry Needling’) and later, in 2018 became a full practitioner in the Emmett Technique. I now practise from my home in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex.
I really enjoy helping to relieve the pain that people suffer, either as a result of injury or because of problems that have built up over many years.
Lots of my clients have been suffering from pain or discomfort that regularly affects their daily lives – as well as their sleep at night. It’s so satisfying to be able to improve or take away that pain and to make a real difference to their lives.
I’m passionate about helping people manage their own bodies and giving them the information they need to self-treat, when needed, between treatments, to keep pain at bay.
